Akor Wine Company LLC
Northwest Wines Crafted with Alaskan Spirit and an Oregonian Sense of Mother Earth

AKOR Wine Company LLC was created by winemaker Joe Williams in 2011 with the name derived from the two states that he loves, Alaska and Oregon.  Today AKOR Wine Company produces two distinctly different brands, D’Anu Wines and 49som.

All of our Oregon wines reflect Alaska, the Last Frontier, by demonstrating balance between the old world and the new world.

DAnu Wines are made from grapes sourced across the Pacific Northwest and crafted with purpose and passion. We partner with vineyards in the Willamette Valley, the Columbia Valley and Oregon’s side of the Walla Walla Valley, who treat the ground they farm with respect and the intention of it being there for generations to come. This attention to quality and being a steward of the land, in addition to his Irish heritage, is what the ancient Celtic goddess embodies to Joe and is his inspiration for the brand of the same name, DAnu.

We meticulously select sustainable farmed grapes to ensure we only create the highest quality wine. Our boutique wines are limited production and meticulously nurtured so we can focus on the flavor, aroma and character of each wine. Established in 2011, DAnu Wines showcase the amazing diversity of Pacific Northwest grapes. Winemaker Joe Williams honors the nuances of each vintage and every partner vineyard.

The Goddess Danu: Considered the most ancient of all Celtic deities, Danu is the mother of the gods – she birthed all things into being. She is the goddess of earth, fertility, wind, and wisdom. As Danu, the goddess, protects the earth, it is our winemaking responsibility to be good stewards of our earth as well. As the fruit goes from the vineyard to bottle, we believe the smaller our impact, the longer we can make quality fruit and quality wines.

49 State of Mind is new brand developed by AKOR Wine Company.  The 49som brand focuses on the varietals Oregon is most known for, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris with the intent of bringing quality small production wines to other states.
